DESCRIPTION
(STR950) Package of 25. 1-3/4 inches long. Extremely dense, man-made corks. Light brown to beige in color. Natural looking design. Works very well with our Floor Model and Bench Model corkers. Gives a perfect seal every time. Many commercial wineries are starting to use this type of cork because of their dependability. We do not recommend using these corks with hand-held corkers. Hand-held corkers may be damaged by using these corks due to their extreme density.

Is it necessary to soften and or sterilize the synthetic corks? And what are they made from?

These wine bottle corks do not need to be softened. However, they do need to sanitized in a sulfite solution prior to bottling. They are made from a food-grade thermoplastic rubber.

If I use synthetic corks, do the bottles still need to be stored on their sides? If so, how long until they can be stored standing up?

With these corks, wine bottles may be stored upright or on their sides. Since they are not a natural cork material, you do not have to keep them moist to prevent them from drying up.
