(TTR115) Titrets provide a fast and easy way to test the sulfite (SO2) levels in your wine. Each Titret will accurately read sulfite levels between 10 and 100 ppm (parts per million). Contains 10 vials, enough for 10 tests. Comes with complete directions. Requires the Titrettor Hand Tool, sold separately. See item TTR110.
Monitoring and controlling the sulfite levels in your wine during bulk aging and during bottling is a big advantage. By keeping your wine at the optimal SO2 level during these times, your wine will retain its flavor and color to the highest degree possible.
Each of the 10 vials has titrating solution stored under a vacuum. Just load the Titret vial into the Titrettor Hand Tool (sold separately) to draw or suck controlled amounts of wine into the vial until a color change is noticed. Determine your reading by matching the total volume collected into the vial with the graduated marks on its side.

Learn to use this product correctly and it will help make great wine and to keep you from wasting yeast while trying to perform a MLA fermentation."For Complete Instructions" Review by Greg (Posted on 1/23/16)

The thing they never mention in the instructions is that the vials have a vacuum in them that pulls the sample in. Once you figure this out and how to moderate the intake of your wine, they work very well."Poor or no direction" Review by Michael (Posted on 9/19/14)
The use of these test vials is confusing with poor directions, the holder has no directions and I am still not sure how to use this (or even if this is needed for performing the test)."Of no use to me." Review by Not Recommended for Red Wines (Posted on 4/13/14)
Nowhere in Kraus' description of this product does it say that it is not recommended for red wines. But that's what it says on the product itself. Since my signature wine is blackberry, I basically wasted my money on this and the titret holder (which does not come with any instructions, by the way). I assume it works for white wines."Excellent for my purposes" Review by pm24 (Posted on 11/23/13)
With only 3 years of kit winemaking under my belt, I'm far from a technical expert. But I thought I'd dip my toe in the testing area, and I began with Titrets to measure Free SO2. For heavy red wines, I want to make sure there is enough FSO2 to absorb oxygen during the long aging period in the carboy or in the bottle. Titrets provide the quickest and most convenient way to measure FSO2. I called Kraus to verify what is included in the box, and the nice lady put me on hold and actually went to the stockroom to find the answer. I ordered the Titrets and Pectic Enzyme online, and they appeared in my mailbox the next day. I couldn't believe what fine service Kraus provides.
